What is a good base layer for skiing/hiking this winter?

everyone usually says thermal underwear/longenderwear or whatever. and i used to agree. but last season i picked up a set of underarmour mid-weight coldgear. and holy sh!t, i swear i have never been more comfortable. i mean yea its 50 bucks for the shirt and 45 for the pants. but after using them id have gladly payed double that. theyre so nice. i wear it under my shell and im the perfect temperature on days that range from 10 degrees and high wind, to 45 degreeblue birds. its amazing. id definately reccomend picking up a set.
