? cow poop when new destroys the ozone when burned dry repairs ozone layer?

g u r u said true years ago? cow poop when new destroys the ozone when burned dry repairs ozone layer?
I'm not sure about both claims....Ozone depleting chemicals are not usually found in manure or anything like that, more like greenhouse gases such as methane....i doubt burning it would help anything either? cow poop when new destroys the ozone when burned dry repairs ozone layer?
It's bovine stomach gas that contains methane - i.e it's the belching, not the farting!

  • I waxed and scraped my snowboard but there is still a tiny layer of wax left should I leave it like that?

It is okay to leave a thin layer of wax, after the first couple of runs it will be gone.I waxed and scraped my snowboard but there is still a tiny layer of wax left should I leave it like that?
Get as much off as you can, but you still want a very thin layer of wax on there.I waxed and scraped my snowboard but there is still a tiny layer of wax left should I leave it like that?
I rarely scrape any wax off my board... For one thing, I hate cleaning up the mess and another thing... a few runs down and it will all be gone anyway. The only time I would worry about any excess wax is if you are entering some very high end race where the winners will be determined in fractions of seconds. If you want t he base to look nice and shiny, use a scotch brite pad (you know, the kind you can get for cleaning pots and pans). It will polish the base up real nice and add some texturing to it.
After you wax and scrape your snowboard, you should take a flat piece of cork (comes with Swix wax) and rub the wax in. This ensures that all the wax is in all the nooks and crannys of the base. It will also make you go faster on your first run.

In the upper layers, Internet protocols do not provide the services specified by the layer 5 & 6 in OSI model.

Other OSI services missing from Internet protocols include: direction control, check point control and synchronization, dialogue/activity control, recovery, syntax manipulation, and application context. Does this mean that the Internet implementors are left to handle these functions in a different way as part of the application protocols? In the upper layers, Internet protocols do not provide the services specified by the layer 5 %26amp; 6 in OSI model.
I'm not sure where you got the information in your question about the OSI services in question. In my studies, and when I taught introductory networking, TCP/IP is the one widely adopted protocol that, either inherently or with added services adopted as part of the spec, maps to all layers of the OSI model except physical. If you could identify where those services match to layers in the OSI model it would be helpful.

Does anywun noe how to layer hair really good?

lift all hair above your ears all around to back and put into a pnytail. You should have the rest still hanging down. Now tie the bottom bit into a tight ponytail and release the top part. Now you will have all the bottom hair in a ponytail and the rest hanging.Grab about 1 inch of hair starting from front, hold it to a bit above ear level and cut straight up towards ceiling, pin it away from rest of hair and repeat going all around your head to the other side. When finished release bottom ponytail.Comb hair to front and blend fronts a bit not cutting shorter than chin do it a bit whispy. If you want shorter layers repeat all above or when cutting hold 1 inch bits a bit higher than ear when cutting. cheers let me know how it went.Does anywun noe how to layer hair really good?
Be carefull layering it yourself i tried the whole put it in a ponytail and cutting it straight across thing and it didn't really come out the way i wanted. you cant really notice that i cut it, my hair just looks thinner (which is the opposite of what was supposed to happen.) idk i obviously did it wrong but still i suggest that you go to a proffessional instead of trying it on your own.

Is a dual layer dvd drive needed to read a dual layer dvd?

I know you need one to burn a dl dvd but do you need to read a dl dvd?Is a dual layer dvd drive needed to read a dual layer dvd?
Yes, a drive must be capable of reading dual layer DVD disc

However, its a standard feature for the past few years, at least. If you are to use this DL disc at another computer, as long as it has a working drive that isn't too old, chances are it will work

If you want to read at your own drive, then of course as long as a drive can burn a DL disc, then it can certain read one too.Is a dual layer dvd drive needed to read a dual layer dvd?
If you have a DVD drive the chances are there will be firmware updateds for it that will add dual layer cababilty(its more of a software than that hardware) look on your manufaturers website

I want to burn an ISO file which says it's too big for an ordinary 4.7 GB DVD so I thought the answer would be easy %26amp; just get a dual layer DVD.Do I need a special DVD Rom to burn a dual layer DVD?
It should say on it. Dual layer is not standard on most DVD writers, so it would stand out.

Or check the manufacturer's website for the spec of it.Do I need a special DVD Rom to burn a dual layer DVD?
You need a DVD writer that supports dual layer discs. Not all do.

What make/model motorcycle was daniel craig riding in the movie layer cake?

Honda 599 (or Hornet 600 depending on where you are in the world)... I'd post a screenshot or two, but they don't really help. Key indicators though are the headlight in the scene where he's lighting his gear on fire, and the mirrors when he rounds the corner to park (which is the indicator that it's the 599 and not the 919).

  • There is a sanitary pad marketed that has a silky layer on top?

I used this product in the early 90's. I just recently tried to find it again..with no idea what the product was called..but I guessed it was called Dri-weave. so I went out and bought some Always dri-weave, and it wasnt the same. it still had somewhat of the same concept, but it wasnt as soft and it didnt keep wetness away from the top layer as well. so I looked it up on the internet and found some indication that they may have altered the product due to it being not very biodegradable. so since Al Gore started bitching to get things changed to be environmentally friendly, now our products suck.

My question is..can someone verify they know what I'm talking about, or does someone know they product I'm talking about under a different name or brand that is as good as it was 15 years ago??

thank you for humoring my odd question. There is a sanitary pad marketed that has a silky layer on top?
    That blows.

They make our pads environmentally friendly but they fill up California with all that trash and pollution?!

    We need our bloody pads!

I think they should be one of the last things to be changed. There are definitely some bigger fish to fry out there.

How does chlorofluorocarbons contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer?

how does chlorofluorocarbons contribute to the depletion of the ozone layerHow does chlorofluorocarbons contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer?
It apparently causes a catalytic reaction where one florine atom turns many ozone atoms(O3) to O2.How does chlorofluorocarbons contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer?
In response to producer_vortex – yes CFCs are very stable, and left alone would have no effect on the ozone layer. Unfortunately, there are situations in the polar regions that enable trapped chemical, raised to the stratosphere on stratospheric ice clouds, to interact with CFCs, releasing the Chlorine from them. It is the chlorine that produces the catalyctic reaction on ozone.

I can’t remember the reaction sequence, but it has been observed to happen, and causes the mass destruction of ozone in the Polar regions. Stratospheric winds then spread the “hole” to lower latitudes.

However, in reality, ozone will never disappear totally, because closer to the equator, ozone is created at such a rate that the polar depletion can never match it.
It is a catalyst for the chemical reaction that breaks up ozone.
    I love this question.....

Ok what happens with a CFC: It is emitted from somewhere on earth and then floats up to the upper atmosphere (the same area our ozone layer is found). When the CFC (chloroflourocarbon - Chlorine Flourine Carbon) is hit with solar radiation it reacts and splits off into a flourine carbon (CF) and a chlorine (Cl). Chlorine in this state is highly reactive so it then reacts with the ozone (O3 subscript 3) to form ClO. This then means that O3 no longer exists only O2. O2 is the oxygen that we breath, but it does not carry the same characteristics as ozone (O3). O2 does not block UV radiation nore does it do anything else O3 does. We like O2 in the lower atmosphere so we can breath, but it is useless in the upper atmosphere especially in place of O3. When the chlorine molecule tears apart the oxygen molecule we are actually witnessing how the ozone layer being depleted. That is the most technical and scientific definition out there. Hope it helps....
How can I get other people to do my homework assignments for me??

Most of the alarmism over ozone and climate are the result of modern communication technology. During the last 30 years, for the first time in the 100 000 years of human history, we have satellite imagery, computers, internet and so on. Every time a storm occurs, it is immediately flashed over every website and tv news channel. People get the impression that a hurricane or flood has never happened before.

The same principle applies to the ozone layer. Some grant-seeking scientist shows a satellite image of the ozone layer to a newsreporter.

    He says; ';We have never seen such a big hole in the ozone!';

Yeah, no kidding. The satellite has only been there for 20 years. The earth is 4.5 billion years old. Don't you think maybe the ozone could have changed at some point earlier in earth history?
They don't. And the proof is The fact that chlorofluorocarbons

have been found in the ozone layer indicate that they are harmless. and very stable.

Ozone, on the other hand, is very unstable. It does not want to

be ozone it wants to be something else, anything else.

Ozone will combine with almost any other substance.

Actually, I didn't mean to be this long winded about this.

What effect does Nuclear testing have on the Ozone layer, after an explosion ?

Nuclear radiation does not make the Ozone layer bigger.... SO ';your brain'; is evidently not a reliable source. What does cause Ozone depletion is chemical reactions (ie, the exhaust from our cars reacts with the gases in the air and turns them into non-ozone gases)

However, this radiation may induce a chemical reaction to release such reactants (since many chemical reactions require heat, which may be given in the blast)What effect does Nuclear testing have on the Ozone layer, after an explosion ?
Why worry - the radiation will probably give you cancer. You have enough to worry about - forget the ozone layer. What effect does Nuclear testing have on the Ozone layer, after an explosion ?
After a nuclear explosion, radiation is released into the air which causes the ozone hole to get bigger.

What ways ozone layer gets depleted and will this result as no life on earth?

~The continued use of hydro-cabons, petro-chemicals and like polutants will continue to eat away the ozone layer. Man will likely not adapt in time and will find his way, deservedly, onto the list of extinct species. DNA, and thus life, will continue. While the ozone layer probably cannot be replinished by the mass burning of religious zealots, such practice may make it easier to combat the problem and would certainly make life easier and more meaningful for us until we fry in our unprotected atmosphere. What ways ozone layer gets depleted and will this result as no life on earth?
They say that some chemicals, spray can propellants, as well as the fumes when gasoline is burned can deplete the ozone layer. Who really knows?? One thing is certain: God will not allow man to destroy all life on earth. In fact, the Bible says that he will put to ruin those who are ruining the earth.

It's not a chrome rich layer that protects the stainless, it is the fact that the stainless is made with chromium. The stainless should naturally passivate itself to form the thin protective layer of chromium oxide that protects it from further oxidation.

First you have to have an application or some kind program that you want to share with others or that others can use to make purchases from you. Then you need to have a web hoster that can handle your traffic. Then you have a server (http and/or ftp) running on a port/(s) at a hosted address (ip address). The clients can uses browsers or other applications to access the server(s) by typing the ip address (and port if not a default one) in the correct spot.

Browsers recognize the protocol to use when connecting to a server by the first portion of the address:

ok are you talking about orienting the top layer middle wedges or the corners.

after your done with 2 layers u may either get:

    1. a dot on the top

    2. an inverted L

    3. A line

    4.A cross

from dot to L algo: F,R,U,Ri,Ui,Fi

from L to line algo: R,U,Ri,U,R,U,U,Ri

    line to cross algo: F,R,U,Ri,Ui,Fi

once u got ur cross just align the middle wedges(at least 2 must be solved) one correct middle wedge as your right phase and the other as your back face then: R,U,Ri,U,Ri,U,R,U,U,Ri

    then jus solve your corners

ALgo: U,R,Ui,Li,U,Ri,Ui,L until all the corners are in the right place then to solve the corners just use Ri,Di,R,D algo if i didnt answer your question let me know cos i didnt get what you meant

Why in super cold weather, only the top layer of the pond water freezes? and to add on, the fish do not die?

need help to answer this in chemical terms, chemical bonding etc. Help is greaty appreciated,, i nid the answer urgently THX!Why in super cold weather, only the top layer of the pond water freezes? and to add on, the fish do not die?
The whole pond will freeze solid if it is cold enough for long enough. But the reason the top freezes first is because water is densest at four degrees. As it gets colder than four degrees it exspands, so the coldest water rises to the tops and freezes. This is because of they hydrogen bonds in the water molecules.

The fish can live until the oxygen runs out. But snce cold water can have more disolved gasses than warm water it can take a while. Why in super cold weather, only the top layer of the pond water freezes? and to add on, the fish do not die?
When water freezes it forms a crystalline material called ice. The molecular structure of ice places the molecules in an orderly pattern. This pattern has a lower specific gravity than liquid water. Less dense materials are displace by higher density so ice floats. The ice layer on top of a pond insulates the water underneath. The fish who live in the water can survive until spring.
Water is unusual in that its solid form (ice) has a less dense structure than the liquid. That's due to the very specific 3-dimensional array of hydrogen bonds that holds water molecules together in the solid state. Because ice is less dense than water, it floats. When water freezes, the ice forms on the top first, and instead of sinking (as most frozen liquids would do), it stays on the top, forming an insulating layer that protects the rest of the water from the cold. Given enough time and enough cold weather, the water beneath will gradually freeze, but not nearly as fast as would happen if the ice sank as it formed, exposing a new liquid surface to the cold air. Hence lakes and ponds stay mostly liquid throughout the winter, and the fish can keep on doing what fish do.
Oxygen is still in the water even though you do not see it , and passes through the fish's gill,s to allow them to breath while swimming.

Also, Moving water does not freeze with fish moving below keeps water circulating even though top remains still which will freeze as temp is cooler at the top then at the bottom

But beware! If no air hole // breathing hole !!on top for air to get back into water fish will soon suffocate as needs regular supply of air to breath.

Unless a natural pond, which most have under ground springs which constantly feeds new water and oxygen in to the pond below does not freeze and water slowly gets absorbed back into the ground.

the water in the bottom of the pond is warmer then the top of the pond , also depending on which type of pond you were talking about plastic ponds for koi or natural pond that has frog's, sun fish etc.they also go into a type of hibernating state and their functions slow down a lot but still move around .

    and for the fishes.

Plants and animals can live under ice because of water's unusual quality of being most dense at 4 degrees C. Ice has a density about 93% of water so it floats on top. Water is most dense at 4掳C. Deeper water below the ice stays at 4掳C because colder water rises to the top due to its lower density. So at the bottom of a frozen lake, stream or pond, it's always 4掳C, warm enough for life-or hibernation at least.

Does getting blue highlights underneath the top layer of your hair seem ridiculous?

i have like darkish brown hair and i really want dark blue highlights. i want it underneath but i'm not sure if it will look ok.

i have straight darkish brown hair just so you can picture itDoes getting blue highlights underneath the top layer of your hair seem ridiculous?
if by rediculous u mean that u should not do it, then yes... blue is not the color, definitely go with glow in the dark!!!Does getting blue highlights underneath the top layer of your hair seem ridiculous?
As long as you keep up the color and style, it looks great! I had it for about a year and it was really fun/cute. The best way to do it is get good quality blonde highlights underneath(in large chunks) and then dye over your whole bottom layer with blue. The $12 bottles from Hot Topic work, except that they eventually turn your hair green.

    Have fun! :)
I say go for it! I have done that with red before and it looks good. Just be sure to have a layered cut on the bottom so they peek out.
I would say, get it done. You can always go back to dark brown if you don't like it.
Yeah! my friend did the same thing except with neon pink and it looks awesome especially when she braids it!
i think it would look kool!

100 year old home - there is a layer of something on the woodwork that won't scrape and paint won't stick to

This layer is yellow and it just will not come off no matter what I've tried to do and the trim paint that we put on just 2 years ago is just peeling off in stips, so nothing is sticking to what ever this is either. Any ideas about how to either get this stuff off of the wood OR how to get the trim paint to stay so that I don't waste another gallon of paint and more time than I care to even imagine? I'm at wits ends - I just want to make it look nice and not have to be redone again in less than 24 months

Thank you for any insight and help!100 year old home - there is a layer of something on the woodwork that won't scrape and paint won't stick to
    One hundred years?!

Shellac, I'll bet -and well absorbed into the wood. Get a heat gun, find one of those ';inconspicuous places,'; and blast that stuff. Have a scraper handy and see if you can peel anything back after it gets HOT.

    Then tell me what happened.

Over and out!100 year old home - there is a layer of something on the woodwork that won't scrape and paint won't stick to
Almost sounds like tree sap that has dried and hard as a rock. Could be from green lumber used in construction.

Check with a paint shop, take a piece of the stuff if you can chip off some.
Try sanding, and then primer. Usually primer will make paint stick and stay. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.
I'm not sure what type of things you have tried to remove the old coating. If that coating is opaque or translucent, in most instances the best cure would be to scuff sand the old coating you are referring to, then apply a bonding primer. Go to a paint store that has a knowledgeable staff, explain your situation and ask them for a product they would recommend to use for a bonding primer.
Scuff sand with 120 grit and then brush on with Kilz primer. Kilz primer will stick to anything and then top coat with your paint.

All aviation instruments are calibrated on the Standard Atmosphere (SA) which is defined as such:

1013.25 hPa (29.9 Mg Inch) at sea level.

from there, the pressure goes down with one hPa (a.k.a millibar) per 8 meters of altitude. But this changes with altitude and at about 500 hPa, which is about 5 km of altitude or half way to the tropopause; the top of the troposphere, the pressure goes down one hPa per 16 meters.

I have a cut on my arm but there is a yellowy sort of layer on top of it now...is it infected or somethin?

I fell the other day and i grazed my arm and a few layers of skin cam off but it wasnt bleeding or anything...but now theres a yellowish layer sort of thing over it and I dunno if it's infected or anything!...does anyone know?I have a cut on my arm but there is a yellowy sort of layer on top of it now...is it infected or somethin?
It sounds like dried serous fluid, not an infection. If it were infected it would have a drainage, be red around the edges, and be painful. Serous fluid is the fluid between your skin cells and its normal to have it in a wound. We don't usually see it because of the blood. Leave it alone, it's a body defence against infection. Don't put antibiotic cream on it - it's not infected. Keep it clean. That's all. Good luck.I have a cut on my arm but there is a yellowy sort of layer on top of it now...is it infected or somethin?
    it is called sluff...

Apply antibiotic cream over it... it should be fine... and will heal..
Clean it with some hydrogen peroxide, put some neosporin on it, then stick a band-aid on top and it's all good.
It sounds like an infection. You should see your doctor for antibiotic.
it's infection my dear! use agua oxinada (hydrogen peroxide) to clean it and take antibiotics.
Oh my gosh. I can relate. xD This past summer, I think I've gotten hurt and gotten that like twice. It's most likely pus.

If it's a teeny tiny cut, it's probably nothing. If it's big and it's either hurting you or causing uncomfortness, you should see your doctor. If it's from a fall or you got the cut near a place with tiny rocks or anything, there may be a piece of rock stuck in the cut.

But, most likely, no fear. :] Don't worry about it unless it's hurting you.
    Hey.

Don't worry about it, its probably just pus or something, happens when you've hurt yourself and the area becomes slightly infected. It'll clear up itself but if its irritating you then go see a doctor for some cream or something.

On a side note, i hope everything's going ok with you, i can't access my emails so i havent had the chance to reply back to you. Sorry, i will get a chance soon. Take care =)
