What layer鈥檚 address is used to deliver data to a NIC within a network segment (point-to-point delivery)?
Talking on the local subnet always uses Layer 2/ARP addresses. If you sniff the network segment, you'll see ARP broadcasts asking ';Who has 192.168.0.1?, Tell 00:50:30:20:10:34...'; That's ARP broadcasts to find what the ARP address of that node is.
